Welcome to Jesus and Buna!
My name is Mercy and I am originally from Ethiopia but currently live in very cold Winnipeg, Canada.
I have had the privilege of being pursued by Jesus and continue to have delight in pursuing Him back in various ways. For the last ten years of walking with Jesus, I have experienced many seasons and had the joy of seeing Him in them. Through this blog, I want to invite readers to my pursuit of Jesus through the in-depth study and understanding of His word and the task of seeing His glory in creation.
Buna means coffee in Amharic. Ethiopians drink buna in a traditional ceremony that can last anywhere between one to three hours. There are normally three stages to the buna ceremony, and it is centred around being a space for friends and family to gather for reflections and conversation.
I hope that this site is a Buna ceremony for you. I hope that it is a safe space to gather with friends and family to explore deep thoughts, questions and feelings. This is important to me because it is a reflection of the safety we find in the heart of God.
Thank you for taking the time to explore the site. My hope and prayer is that you are encouraged and are motivated to pursue God even more.
God bless,
Mihret
